Build a short break menu
When a workday is busy, deciding how to rest can become one more task. A small menu prepared in advance makes the decision easier: keep two or three options that suit different kinds of fatigue.
- After screen work: look away, stand up, and walk for a few minutes if you can.
- Between conversations: sit quietly or take a few comfortable breaths before moving to the next call.
- When you feel physically stiff: change posture and stretch gently, without forcing a movement.
A useful cue is the end of a natural unit of work: save a document, finish a call, or close a task before taking the pause. The point is to create a transition, not to hit a productivity score.
For a quiet pause at the computer, Take a Break Button offers calming interactive scenes and a breathing timer. It is one choice on the menu; an off-screen break may be preferable when you have already spent a long time looking at a display.
